FAQ
Straight answers on privacy, plans and how Unidesk works.
No. Unidesk listens to the audio on your own computer, so no bot joins the call and nothing shows up in the participant list. It works with any app that plays sound, including Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, even with headphones on.
Click record in Unidesk, or accept the prompt when it spots a call starting. It captures your mic and your computer's sound. Nothing is recorded until you click.
A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later), or a Windows 10 or 11 PC. On-device AI runs best with 24 GB of memory; 16 GB works, but slower. On an older laptop, a Pro or Max plan does the heavy lifting in the cloud. Intel Macs and Linux aren't supported yet.
Yes, with no time limit and no card. Free gives you unlimited meetings, transcripts and summaries that run on your computer. Pro and Max are optional and add cloud hours for when you want speed on any laptop.
On your computer. Recordings, transcripts, summaries and notes live in a local database and a recordings folder you choose in Settings. Nothing syncs to the cloud. Unidesk doesn't encrypt that database itself, so keep FileVault (Mac) or BitLocker (Windows) turned on.
Nothing, when you use on-device AI. On Pro or Max, meeting audio goes over an encrypted connection to our cloud AI, which sends back the transcript and summary. Dictation always stays on your computer.
No. Cloud audio is processed to make your transcript and summary, and Unidesk doesn't store it on its servers. We send it only to the AI providers that make your transcript and summary, who process it under their own terms. We don't use your meetings to train models.
No. Your notes, tasks, whiteboards, time entries and dictation stay on your computer and are never sent to any AI provider or used to train AI. Only meeting audio and transcripts go to the cloud, on Pro or Max, when you choose Cloud.
Meeting data stays on your computer until you delete it. We keep only your email, plan and usage counts while your account is active. Email support@unidesk.app to delete your account and we remove that data within 30 days.
Yes. Unidesk doesn't announce itself to the call, so consent is up to you. Tell everyone on the call before you record and get their agreement. If anyone says no, don't record. The full rules are in our Terms of Use.
Yes. Connecting AI apps like Claude, Codex and Cursor with MCP is included in every plan, including Free, and uses no cloud hours, because the AI app does its own thinking. It needs Unidesk 1.0.18 or later.
Free: unlimited meetings and summaries on your computer. Pro (₹799 a month, or US$15 in the United States): 126 cloud hours a month (at least 6 hours every workday) of cloud transcripts and summaries, with advanced AI thinking models. Max (₹1,499 a month, or US$25 in the United States): 252 cloud hours (at least 12 hours every workday), twice Pro's time. Both include unlimited summaries within fair use. AI models may change at any time without notice.
Hours reset on the 1st of every month (5:30 am IST), not on your billing date, and unused hours don't roll over. At your limit, cloud features pause until the reset; a meeting already processing can finish, and on-device features keep working.
Buy plans inside the app after you sign in. Payments run through Razorpay in Indian rupees for orders outside the United States, with UPI, cards and the other methods shown at checkout. Customers in the United States pay in US dollars through Paddle, plus sales tax where it applies. Yearly is ₹7,990 for Pro or ₹14,990 for Max (US$150 or US$250 in the United States): two months free.
Cancel any time in the app under Settings → Account. You won't be charged again, and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Changed your mind? Email support@unidesk.app within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund. Renewals aren't refunded.
Yes, in two steps. Cancel your current plan, then buy the other one in the app once it ends. The app shows the date it becomes available. Unused days aren't prorated.
Not yet. Unidesk, based in Bengaluru, India, isn't GST-registered, so no GST is added to your price. Need a payment record? Email support@unidesk.app.
